Product Overview
----------------

SecureCRT protects your passwords, user accounts, and data, combining
rock-solid terminal emulation with the strong encryption, broad
authentication options, and data integrity of the Secure Shell (SSH)
protocol.

SecureCRT provides versatile solutions for business, network manage-
ment, information security, and development tasks, from accessing
host-based applications and administering servers to securely
accessing behind-the-firewall network resources like email, files,
and printers.

SecureCRT supports SSH2, SSH1, Telnet, serial, and Raw on all
platforms. On Windows, Telnet/TLS, RLogin, and TAPI are supported.
Authentication methods include password, public key, X.509
certificate, Kerberos v5 via GSSAPI, and keyboard interactive.
Ciphers include ChaCha20/Poly1305, AES-GCM, AES-CTR, and AES.

Choose from a wide range of emulations, most with ANSI color.
Unicode support includes the ability to display character sets from
multiple languages, support for languages with right-to-left reading
order, and a character encoding list that includes commonly-used
encodings as well as all encodings supported by the local system.

SecureCRT features a multi-session tabbed or tiled interface with
extensive session management and customization features. Customi-
zation options include keymaps, button bar, and login scripts, as
well as fonts, cursors, and color schemes. A dockable session
manager provides quick connection to sessions.

Named sessions and firewalls let you create individual configurations
that can be used on a session-specific basis. A personal data folder
provides private and separate storage of sensitive information so that
other configuration data can be stored on a network drive or in the
cloud for use on different systems or for sharing with colleagues.
Other features include auto logon, printing, Emacs mode, and SOCKS
firewall support.

Routine configuration tasks can be automated using powerful scripting
capabilities including ActiveX scripting support for VBScript,
JScript, and PerlScript on Windows, embedded Python support on all
platforms, and the script recorder. Securely transfer files using
Zmodem, Xmodem, Ymodem, or Kermit from an SSH1, SSH2, or TLS session.
Upload files easily by dragging and dropping them onto an SFTP tab or
session window. A built-in TFTP server provides additional flexi-
bility for transferring files.

Save steps with the close integration of SecureCRT and the SecureFX(R)
file transfer client, which share sessions and settings that let you
run SFTP, FTP, SCP, and FTP/TLS file transfer sessions without
reentering passwords.

SecureCRT includes a 30-day try-before-you-buy evaluation license for
the fully functional application and access to VanDyke Software(R)
technical support.

1. New For SecureCRT 9.0
------------------------

Consolidate network connections within SecureCRT 9.0 for Windows by
connecting RDP sessions in tabs or tiles.

Automate administrative tasks with Python 3 scripts.

On Windows, save time with the integrated scratchpad tab. Just open a
scratchpad tab and start writing notes. Edit local Python or ActiveX
scripts without leaving SecureCRT.

Customize SecureCRT to work for you. Set the status bar to show only
the items you choose, in the order you want to see them. Pre-load
agent keys to save time. Use the Command Manager to save and organize
commands in folders.

Here are some of the new features in SecureCRT 9.0:

RDP support (Windows)

Consolidate network connections within SecureCRT by connecting RDP
  sessions in tabs or tiles.

Scratchpad tab (Windows)

Use the scratchpad tab or tile to write notes or copy and paste
configuration commands or other text without having to open a
separate editor. Scratchpad contents can be saved to a file.

Script editor tab (Windows)

Save time by using the new built-in script editor with syntax
highlighting to create and modify local scripts. Scripts can be
edited in a tab or tile and then run in a different tab or tile.

Command Manager (Mac and Linux)

Support for the Command Manager has been added to Mac and Linux,
which allows commands to be saved and organized within folders.
Commands that can be saved include: sending strings, executing menu
functions, running scripts, and running local applications. Button
bars, including the buttons on the button bar, can be copied
to the Command Manager and vice versa.

Support for Python 3

Python 3 support is provided through an external module, allowing
Python 3 libraries to be used in SecureCRT scripts. For Windows,
Python 2 and Python 3 are supported. For Mac, Ubuntu Linux, and
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8, only Python 3 is supported. Red Hat
Enterprise Linux 7 only supports Python 2.

Customizable status bar

Display only the items you want in the order you want on the
status bar. New items include the log file name and the local
  system time.

Additional status bar enhancements

While a selection is being made, the number of lines currently
selected is shown in the status bar. A global option allows the
status bar to be shown in full-screen mode.

Pre-load keys into agent

Save time by specifying which keys to load into SSH2 agent when
SecureCRT starts. This is also supported in SecureFX 9.0,
simplifying steps when using the SecureCRT+SecureFX Bundle.

Session Manager enhancement

Find sessions even faster by using wildcard characters “*” and “?”
in the Session Manager filter box.

Other enhancements

Google search on selected text: Select text in a session, such as
an error number, and have SecureCRT launch your web browser to do
a Google search on the selected text.

Multi-line paste: An option allows the number of lines to be
specified, providing additional control over when the Paste
Confirmation dialog is shown. Also, the line send delay value can
be overridden for the paste operation.

Specify and order host-key algorithms (SSH2): The host-key
algorithms can now be specified and ordered from the Session
  Options dialog.

Xterm escape sequence option: Added an option that allows the
Xterm escape sequence to copy to the clipboard (OSC 52).

Algorithm support: SecureCRT now supports the rsa-sha2-256 and
  rsa-sha2-512 public-key algorithms (RFC 8332).

Require configuration passphrase (Windows): An administrative
option can be set to disallow a blank configuration passphrase.

Platform support

Support has been added for Ubuntu 20.04 LTS and Red Hat Enterprise
  Linux 8.
